SecuritHub is controlled by NextGen 5.0, a non-profit organization based in Italy. NextGen 5.0 (“NextGen 5.0“, “we“, “our” or “us“) operates a professional networking platform (“SecuritHub” or “Platform“), used by various entities to engage with registered and approved members of our community.

 

This Privacy Notice applies to SecuritHub.com, SecuritHub branded and non-branded apps, and other SecuritHub-related sites, communications and services (“Services” & “Sites”). It describes the personal data we typically receive or collect whenever someone visits our Sites or installs and opens our App (a “Visitor“), creates (“Owner“), manages (“Manager”) or joins (“Member“) our community, or uses SecuritHub and engages with other Members via the various communication features available via the Services. It also describes how and for which purposes we may we use, share, disclose and store your information. We strongly urge you to read this Notice and make sure that you fully understand and agree to it. By visiting our Sites and using our Services, you consent to the use of your personal information by us as explained in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not use our Sites and Services. Launched and managed by NextGen 5.0, SecuritHub is a social network and online platform for professionals, students and researchers in international security, counter-terrorism and other security-related fields. Our registered and approved users (“Members”) use SecuritHub and other SecuritHub-related sites to share their professional profiles, find new business and career opportunities, connect and engage with other users, exchange knowledge and professional insights, post relevant content, ask questions and find information. We offer our Members choices about the data we collect, use and share as described in this Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, and User Agreement.

 

Changes and Updates

We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the date at the top, so be sure to check back periodically to stay aware of any modifications. Your continued use of our Sites and Services after changes have been posted will constitute your acceptance of this Privacy Policy and any changes made to it. In the event of any material changes to this Policy, we will send an email to your address on file, prior to the change becoming effective.

The processing operations related to the web-based services that are made available via this website are carried out at the aforementioned office of NextGen 5.0 exclusively by technical staff in charge of said processing, or else by persons tasked with such maintenance activities as may be necessary from time to time. No data resulting from web-based services is either communicated or disseminated. Any personal data that is provided by users requesting to be sent information materials such as bulletins, newsletters, annual reports, answers to questions, decisions and sundry provisions, etc. is only used to provide the service and/or discharge the tasks requested and is disclosed to third parties only if this is necessary for the said purposes.

 

Data We Collect

We may ask for and collect from you personally identifiable information at various points throughout the Sites. During registration you need to provide data including your full name, email address and a password. If you apply for our Plus or Premium membership plan, you will need to provide payment (e.g., credit card) and billing information. If approved, you will be asked to create a professional profile. You have choices about the information on your profile, such as your education, work experience, research interests, skills, languages proficiency, awards and certifications, publications, location, nationality and profile picture. You can also choose whether to make your profile private or visible to other registered Members.

 

We may also collect personal data from you when you post or upload content on our Sites, such as when you fill out a form, respond to a survey, submit a request, ask a question, comment a post or create an announcement. You may also post content that includes information about yourself. We may collect such public information and make it available as part of our Services, including, as permitted by your account settings, in notifications to others.

 

We may also automatically collect basic technical information from all visitors to the Sites. We may automatically collect information about how visitors use the Sites, and may use cookies or other similar technologies to help use and compile statistics. These data are only used to extract anonymous statistical information on website use as well as to check its functioning; they are erased immediately after being processed. Our Services allow you to stay in touch and up to date with other registered and approved Members. We use data about you (such as your professional profile) to help other users find your profile, connect with you and send direct messages. How We Share Information

Any data that you include on your profile and any content you post or social action (e.g., likes, follows, comments, shares) you take on our Sites and Services can be seen by other Members. Subject to your settings, your profile can be either private or fully visible to other approved and registered Members. Our Services also allow viewing and sharing information including through posts, likes, follows and comments. When you share an article or a post it can be viewed by other Members. They will be able to find and see your publicly-shared content, including your name (and profile picture if you have provided one). When you join or create a group, your membership in the group is visible to other Members. When you follow another Member, you are visible to others and that “page owner” as a follower. Finally, when you like, re-share or comment on another’s content, other Members will be able to view these “social actions” and associate it with you (e.g., your name, profile and photo if you provided it).

 

We may share your personal information, when necessary or with your prior express consent, with our staff, affiliates, and third party service providers as required to provide you with the products and services you request. We may use third-party service providers to collect, store, or process your personal information to complete your request, e.g. providing information about a project, product, or service or to outsource one or more of the functions described above.

 

By consenting to this privacy policy, you are expressly consenting us to provide your personal information to third parties who may use servers outside of your home country. We may also share your personal information as required or permitted by law to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process or government request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is legally required or otherwise necessary to protect our rights and property, or the rights, property or safety of others, including advisers, law enforcement, judicial and regulatory authorities. Controlling Your Personal Information

We generally retain your personal data as long as you keep your account open or as needed to provide you Services. You are entitled at any time to obtain confirmation of the existence of personal data concerning them and be informed of their contents and origin, verify their accuracy, or else request that such data be supplemented, updated or rectified (Section 7 of Legislative Decree no. 196/2003). You may have to offset any fees associated with pulling this information, but if you would like a copy of the information held on you, please request this info via email.

 

You also have a right to require the correction or deletion of your personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete to the extent permitted by applicable law. Please request these changes or deletions via email. If you choose to close your SecuritHub account, your personal data will generally stop being visible to other Members on our Sites and Services within 48 hours. We generally delete closed account information within 45 days of account closure, except when it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations, meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, or enforce our User Agreement.

Please be aware that we do not control these third party websites or any of the content contained on those websites.  Once you have left our Sites, we cannot be responsible for the privacy practices of such other websites.  We encourage you to exercise caution and to read the privacy policy for the website you visit. The inclusion of hyperlinks to third party websites on our Sites in no way constitutes an endorsement by us of such websites’ content, actions or policies.
