Community Guidelines

Welcome to SecuritHub. We're glad to have you as part of our Community!

SecuritHub is the world's first social platform for researchers, students, experts and practitioners in international security and counter-terrorism. Our mission is to assist our members in their personal and professional development by providing them with a space to connect, share ideas and expertise, seek advice, ask for tips, find new job opportunities, and build mutually beneficial business relationships.

We are fully committed to making this community space a safe, respectful and harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, culture, background, profession, political affiliation, or religion. To accomplish this aim we have accumulated a few Community Guidelines which we expect all members to abide by throughout the platform. Violations of these guidelines may result in the removal of material, comments, or possibly the termination of a member’s use of and registration on SecurithHub.

What we encourage you to do in the community:

Be safe

  • Be polite and respect other people’s opinions. Also the fact they may be different to your own;

  • Respect the privacy and personal information of other members;

  • Communicate with courtesy and respect.

Be trustworthy

  • Use your true identity, provide accurate information about yourself, and only share information that is real and authentic.

Be professional

Share your challenges & ask for help

  • Feel free to share the challenges you’re going through or questions you have and ask for advice and guidance.  You can also ask for feedback on your work, as long as you aren’t explicitly sharing this work in a self-promotion way.

  • Search for your question before starting a new topic. Chances are someone has had the same problem and there will be a solution on their existing topic.

  • When you ask a new question, make sure to get really specific, so that people know the best way to help you! Also, keep in mind that the we’re all in different timezones, so be patient as not everyone is logged into the community all the time.

Share your knowledge

  • When you’re able to, please help others in the community by answering their questions, sharing your ideas, and supporting them. This is a wonderful way to build connections and showcase your expertise!

Start and join in for discussions

  • Feel free to kick off a general discussion about any topic that is pertinent to the group that you’re posting in. Make sure to engage with members when they respond to your discussion!

Share helpful resources & tips

  • You are welcome to share any great resources you come across, as long as you are willing to engage in a conversation about it.
